My Story: Alexandra Rota, High School Junior

All Sports High School RecruitingCompetitive swimming has been an important part of my life since I was 8 years old, and the sport taught me so many valuable lessons. Swimming is a major commitment, and I learned to organize my time doing school work as well as other extracurricular activities.

I also learned how hard work eventually pays off, even though there are many obstacles and disappointments along the way.

College Recruiting Lessons

I knew I wanted to continue swimming in college but I was always told college recruiters were only interested in nationally ranked swimmers. Then, I met Hans Hanson and The College Sports Track. He taught me that there is a college for every competitive swimmer.

Academic Options

But, I also learned that I needed to do the work to not only catch the attention of coaches but to also find the best academic fit. For me, the key was learning how important it is to contact colleges that I was interested in attending and to send them a profile of my high school swimming and academic accomplishments. My goal is to find the college that will provide me with the best opportunity as an athlete and as a student.

Competitive in College

In college, I look forward to continuing my passion for swimming. And, I know I will have an opportunity to meet other students who have the same athletic and academic commitment that I do.
